Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Odisha Crime Branch, Commissionerate Police and Mayurbhanj police have confiscated movable and immovable assets of 23 Ponzi firms in the state, Finance minister Pradip Amat revealed yesterday.

Replying to a written question by senior BJD legislator Prafulla Samal in the Assembly, the Finance minister said the state government has given an ad-interim order after reviewing 25 proposals in this regard.

The ad-interim orders have been submitted in 16 courts in Cuttack, six courts in Balasore and one court in Sambalpur, the minister added.

After getting absolute order from special courts, the Collectors of six districts are taking necessary steps to value the confiscate properties of six chit fund companies, Amat informed.
