Angul: After Odia actor Usasi Misra leveled allegations against three persons- Indramani Sahu (55) and his two sons, of sexually assaulting her prior to her performance in a Jatra show at Derang in Angul district on Sunday night, Indramani today filed a counter FIR at the Talcher SDJM court against the actor for allegedly manhandling him and issuing death threat.

As per the complaint filed by Indramani, the incident occurred while he was trying to park his car. The car slightly hit the actor who was standing near the stage ahead of her performance organised by the Eastern Blue Opera, he stated.

Usasi reacted violently to this and when Indramani got down from the vehicle, she held his collar, abused and thrashed him, the complaint mentioned. The complaint further stated that after Indramani fell down, his sons and a few eye witnesses rushed to the spot and rescued him from the clutches of the actor.

As per Indramani, when all the spectators gathered, Usasi fled the spot and threatened him and his sons that she would put the three in trouble by filing a false case against them.

Demanding action against her, Indramani has requested cases to be registered under Sections 341, 323, 294, 307, 506 of IPC.

On the other hand, members of the Talcher Yuva Samaj Organisation met Northern-Central Range DIG Narsingh Bhol and submitted a memorandum demanding justice to the Odia actor and action against the accused.

Earlier on Wednesday during a presser in Bhubaneswar, Usasi while recounting the horror of Sunday night, narrated how she was assaulted in public prior to the Jatra show.

“Indramani Sahu pulled my hair and thrashed me and amid the scuffle his sons pushed me to the ground… one of them was trying to rip my shirt off and other was trying to take my pants off,” Usasi had stated. Usasi had further alleged that Indramani and his sons threatened to rape and shoot her.

Demanding justice, Usasi rued no arrests have been made even after three days and also blamed the Jatra management for the assault on her.

“I want to question the general public, artistes, the owner of the Jatra company whom I am working with – Soumya Ranjan Pattnaik and the people with whom I went to perform that why there was no security for me and my other associates despite a huge gathering of over 12,000 people,” Usasi said adding that she will not return to Jatra if she is not provided adequate security.

On the other hand, CEO of Eastern Media, Malay Mishra while responding to the actor’s demand for security said, “We will discuss with her under what terms and conditions she will like to continue to work with us. We will hold discussions & seek security; still, if she leaves, it’s up to her, but it will affect Jatra.”

The actress had lodged a complaint at Kaniha police station accusing Indramani and his two sons of manhandling her and other crew members.
