Bhubaneswar: Paintings by artists on the Asian Athletics Championship and mascot Olly were the main attractions during the Patha Utsav in Bhubaneswar today.

OLLY mascot was the cynosure of all eyes at the Patha Utsav, which was held from the Master Canteen square to the Ram Mandir square.

Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) mayor Anant Narayan Jena, who was present at the utsav said, “The Asian Athletics meet will boost the State’s tourism sector,” adding that the denizens should take responsibility to make the city better as the Hockey World Cup is due next year here.

Among others, Finance Minister Shashi Bhusan Behera and Bhubaneswar MP Prasanna Patasani were present at the 32nd Patha Utsav.

Meanwhile, artistes showcased dance performance ahead of the Asian Athletics inaugural ceremony on July 5 at Kalinga Stadium.

The Pakistan team will arrive in Bhubaneswar tomorrow to participate in the sports meet.

The Asian Athletics event will be organised from July 6 to 9 after its inauguration on July 5. More than 700 athletes from around 45 countries will participate in 42 events, 21 for men and 21 for women.
