Bhubaneswar: Putting an end to the controversy, the Athletics Federation of Pakistan has confirmed that it has received visa clearance for its contingent representing in the 22nd Asian Athletics Meet to be held at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar from July 5.

Replying to a query by OTV, President of the Pakistan Athletics Federation, Akram Sahi confirmed “Yes, we have got the visas except two persons i.e. one athlete and one official – the secretary of the federation.”

Earlier, contrary to the Athletic Federation of India claims that Pakistan team’s visa has been cleared for participation in the ensuing 22nd Asian Athletics Championship, the Pakistan Athletics Federation had denied getting any confirmation on visas till evening from India.

“We are trying to contact Indian Embassy because today is the last working day and the Embassy will be closed on the weekend. So if the visas are not endorsed today it will not be possible for us to make it for the event,” Sahi had said.
