Puri: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) today said that the repair work of the Jagamohan, the hall facing the Sanctum Sanctorum of Puri Srimandir has been completed.

As per the direction issued earlier, ASI authorities filed an affidavit on Tuesday before the Orissa High Court (HC) furnishing details through a status report on repair of Jagamohan.

The HC has directed the Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) to handover the space near Garuda Stamba for repair works.

Notably, a wide crack was noticed in the roof beam of the Natya Mandap during de-plastering and the ASI was asked to carry out the repair.

This apart, the court has also sought a fresh affidavit from the General Electrical department and the ASI on the repair work of Nilachakra atop the 12th century shrine.
