Jajpur: Over a hundred Anganwadi workers took to streets demanding fulfillment of various demands, including salary hike, at Dharmasala of Jajpur district today.

The ASHA workers assembled before the office of the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDC) at Dharmasala under the banner of the All India Ladies Workers’ Union and staged a demonstration shouting slogans.

Besides hike in salary, the women activists demanded social security and filling up of various vacant posts. The Anganwadi workers also threatened that they would continue their stir for indefinite period if the state government does not fulfill their demands at the earliest.

“We will continue our agitation in all blocks, districts and even in the state capital until and unless the Naveen government pays heed to our demands,” said Babita Parida, an ASHA Karmi.
