As temperatures drop, temptations of Daringbadi allure

Daringbadi: Considered the Kashmir of Odisha, Daringbadi in Kandhamal district is the ‘go-to’ winter holiday destination of tourists. The beauty seems omnipresent starting with the morning dew drops adorning the forests to the beauty of valleys.

"The atmosphere is very pleasant, all should visit the place as Daringbadi is very beautiful," said a tourist Nandini Majumdar.

Another tourist Kajol, member of a trekkers’ group, said, "We have visited Daringbadi for the first time, it is a very good place and we are enjoying the trek here."

Another tourist Susmita Ray was also excited to visit Daringbadi. "It is a very cold, calm, peaceful and quiet place totally aloof from the urban humdrum. It is a very nice place where we are enjoying a lot," she said.

Tourists have started thronging Daringbadi and many started cozying themselves up in the lap of nature by living in tents under the open sky and roaming in the forests.

"Tourists have arrived from West Bengal, Chhattisgarh and Bihar and have set up a camp in Daringbadi for trekking. It will help in development of Odisha’s tourism and create a new identity for Daringbadi as such a camp is first for the place," said Hill View Park in-charge Kailash Dandapat.
