Bhubaneswar: The sub-divisional judicial magistrate (SDJM) court in Bhubaneswar today issued arrest warrant against a lady OAS officer in connection with a defamation suit filed by an IAS officer whom she had earlier charged with sexual harassment.

The SDJM court on Thursday issued the arrest warrant after the lady OAS officer, Santoshini Sahu failed to appear before the court despite being summoned twice in connection with the defamation case filed by IAS officer, Premananda Khuntia.

The OAS officer had earlier alleged that Khuntia sent obscene pictures and videos on her mobile and lodged a complaint on October 10, 2015 following which the Commissionerate Police arrested Khuntia.

Later, Khuntia got bail and was even acquitted. He then filed a defamation suit of Rs 1 crore against Santoshini.

Meanwhile, the reason behind Santoshini not appearing before the court even after being summoned twice is yet to be established.
