As per the allegations, the incident took place when the girl was carrying water for her elder sister who was fishing, when one Bimaleswar Majhi of the same village dragged her to a secluded place and raped her and fled the spot.

A case was registered following a complaint lodged by her family members against Majhi at the Bansda police station.
