Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch on Friday arrested Aman Charan Sahoo, the power of attorney holder of Seven Hills Estate limited on charges of duping investors to the tune of Rs 5 crore.

EOW officials informed that the officials of Seven Hills Estate Ltd had duped nearly 200 people on the pretext of providing them land at Pipili in Puri district.

Sahoo was arrested based on a complaint filed by Subhransu Sekhar Senapati, a lawyer from Bhubaneswar in connection with the land fraud.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the managing director of Seven Hills Estate, MS Srinivas, company’s power of attorney holder Anam Charan Sahoo and officials of Lingaraj Infrastructure Pvt Limited had hatched a conspiracy and subsequently duped buyers.

EOW officials stated that Seven Hills Estate Limited had transferred nearly 6 acres and 71 decimal of land at Matipada mouza in Pipili in the name of the complainant and others through sale deeds during 2003 to 2006.

However, the company had subsequently executed sale deeds again in favour of M/s Lingaraj Infrastructure Pvt Limited.

EOW had arrested MD of Seven Hills, MS Srinivas and directors of Lingaraj Infrastructure Rohit Saraf and Sajjan Surekha on September 29 and November 3, respectively in connection with the land fraud.
