Another farmer commits suicide in Jajpur

Jajpur: Another farmer from Jajpur district who had consumed poison allegedly over crop failure died today at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. The deceased farmer has been identified as Panchanan Dalei of Daharakul village under Bari block of Jajpur district.

Sources informed that Panchanan took the extreme step after suffering losses in his Groundnut and Pointed Gourd cultivation.

Irate over the farmer’s death, locals blocked the Bari-Kuakhia road by keeping the dead body on road and demanded compensation for the deceased’s family.

A few days back, another farmer, Kalinga Ghadei had also ended his life after consuming poison.
