Another crorepati DFO in Vigilance net

Bhubaneswar: Another DFO has landed in Vigilance net for amassing assets disproportionate to income. The DFO has been identified as Mahadeo Badaik.

The Vigilance sleuths today conducted raids at four places across the State including Bhubaneswar in this connection. During raids the sleuths traced houses belonging to the DFO at Sundergarh and Rourkela along with one in Sishu Vihar area in Bhubaneswar.

“The estimated cost of the two buildings is around Rs 50 lakh. Moreover, the officer has made significant investments in insurance policies which are expected to be around Rs 45 lakhs. He is currently working as an Engineer-in-chief, Civil in a World Bank funded project. It is suspected that he has embezzled funds while working in various projects,” said Vigilance additional SP, Yudhistir Mallick.
