Bhubaneswar: The sixteenth edition of Anjali International Children's Festival-2017 will commence from tomorrow on the occasion of Children's Day at Adivasi Exhibition Ground, Unit-1 in Bhubaneswar. The festival organised by state disability information and resource centre Swabhiman will be inaugurated by Governor S C Jamir.
This year the organisers have come up with a unique theme 'Superheroes' to generate interest among 7,000 participating children. In total, 54 teams including three foreign teams from Australia, Nepal and Afghanistan will be participating in this grand event.
The festival will feature various workshops for the children along with cultural and infotainment events during its five days.
"We are planning to make Anjali Children’s Festival a 'Zero Waste Festival' this year. Swabhiman team and all the volunteers involved are putting in a lot of efforts to make this event a grand success like every year," said Sruti Mohapatra, Chief Executive of Swabhiman.
On the opening day before the inauguration ceremony, staff of Swabhiman, volunteers, participants, guests and general public will participate in a rally ‘carnival of love’.
The organisers are all excited for this year's event and expect it to be as entertaining and informative for the kids as always.
"This is my tenth year at Anjali International Children’s Festival. Many events are held simultaneously. Theme based events are organised for the children. They really enjoy a lot and we too," said coordinator Tapash Kumar Das.
During the festival, the seventh edition of Bioscope Children's Film Festival is also scheduled to be held from 15th to 18th November at Bhanja Kala Mandap where four movies will be showcased.
