Jeypore: In yet another show of strength, Andhra Pradesh officials on Tuesday organised health and people-connect camps in Kotia cluster of villages under Pottangi block of Odisha's Koraput district.

As per reports, Vizianagaram ASP Deepak Patel and other officials of the neighbouring state visited the bordering Kotia gram panchayat and organised a health camp in which they identified as many as 41 people for cataract surgery.

With an aim to lure the villagers, the officials also organised a volleyball match and distributed 150 blankets, 200 sarees and 15 volleyball kits.

The intrusion of Andhra officials continues unabated in the region due to Odisha government’s neglect and indifference to the issue, alleged locals.

Earlier on January 9, Vizianagaram Collector and SP had attended a programme named ‘Maa Uru’ or Janambhumi at Kotia, the event which is observed in Andhra Pradesh from January 2 to 11 every year, and distributed blankets among the villagers.

Later on February 6, Odisha government decided to depute a high-level team to take stock of the ongoing activities being undertaken by the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh at the disputed Kotia panchayat.
