Bhubaneswar: With buzz surrounding the ministry reshuffle getting shriller, Speaker of the Odisha Assembly, Niranjan Pujari resigned from his post today, stoking speculations that he might be set for ministerial berth in the likely reshuffle of the cabinet.

According to sources, Niranjan arrived at the Assembly today evening and handed over his responsibilities to the deputy speaker of the Assemmbly Sananda Marandi.

However, Niranjan didn’t divulge the reason behind his resignation and said he wants to devote more time towards his own constituency.

“To devote more time and stay connected with my constituency, I have resigned,” said Pujari.
