Ambulance delay leads to pregnant lady’s death

Nabarangpur: In yet another case of poor healthcare service in the state, a pregnant lady of Nabarangpur district died as the ambulance reportedly reached late here on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Tulabati Gouda of Bharataguda village under Dabugaon block.

Sources said Tulabati was taken to the Dabugaon Primary Health Centre soon after she complained of labour pain. Doctor at the hospital referred her to the Nabarangpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) after a check up.

When her condition deteriorated, the family members of the pregnant lady called 108 Ambulance to take her to the Nabarangpur DHH, but it couldn't reach on time following which Tulabati died at the primary health centre, sources said.
