Cuttack: In this modern era of education where schools are growing a cohesive atmosphere, three students of Lalbag upper primary school were allegedly beaten up by their headmistress here on Saturday.

According to sources, the trio, two class VII students and a class VIII student, was reportedly playing on the campus after having their midday meal when the headmistress called them to her chamber and badly beat them with a stick.

After one of the students reported the incident to his mother, she rushed to the school, seeking action against the headmistress for beating her child. Later, she lodged a complaint with local Mangalabag police in connection with the incident, sources added.

“They were playing Kabaddi after having their meals. Headmistress called all three to the office room and beat them in front of two other teachers. The teachers could not stop the headmistress and witnessed the harsh behavior silently. One student, Santosh Sharma even fell down in the room,” said Sahida Sareen, the mother.

A complaint has been lodged at the Mangalabag police station against the headmistress.

Despite several attempts, the headmistress of the school could not be contacted over the issue.
