New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: In view of some BJD parliamentarians raising questions in social media and press on the way the regional party was functioning few days back, all eyes are on a meeting scheduled to be held at the Sansad Bhawan in New Delhi tomorrow and chaired by BJD party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik with a presence of the party MPs.
What kind of ‘mantra’ the BJD chief will spell to the party MPs during the meeting arouses curiosity among many having interests in the State politics.
Lack of co-ordination among the party MPs, the war of words between the leaders and BJD strategy against BJP are likely to be talked about in the meeting. Besides, communication gap, if any exists, between the party supremo and members of the BJD parliamentary party will be taken up during the discussion.
Amar Prasad Satpathy, BJD spokesperson, stated, “In the meeting, the party president is likely to ask if any party MP has anything to say about the party affairs.”
In recent days, public statements made by Union Minister and senior BJP leader Jual Oram saying that some BJD legislators and parliamentarians are keen to join the saffron party has intensified the rumour mills.
Patnaik is likely to advice the party MPs to stay united and work towards safeguarding the Odisha people’s interests.
BJD MP from Sambalpur Nagendra Pradhan said, “The party supremo will tell the party parliamentarians on how to present the State’s just demand before the Central government.”
Pradhan further stated, “It is immaterial who is saying what in social media or press,” adding that Naveen is aware of the developments in connection with party matters as the chief.
It is noteworthy that BJD MP from Dhenkanal Tathagat Satpathy few days ago had tweeted about party affairs following which Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda had posted a reply on Twitter when asked by a user of the social site to comment on the issue.
Another BJD MP Narendra Swain had added fuel to the simmering discontent by saying that the regional party is not being managed properly.
