Alert gang man spots crack on track; narrow escape for Vizag-Korba Express

Muniguda: A major train accident was averted late last night when a railway gang man spotted a crack on the railway track near Muniguda station in Rayagada district. The crack was identified minutes before the Visakhapatnam-Korba Express was scheduled to pass through the stretch.

The gang man showed red light to the train which was at a slow pace ahead of approaching the Muniguda station.

The train was halted and repair work of the railway track was undertaken after other railway staff reached the spot.

For two and half hours, the train was stopped near the station before it left for its destination.
