Cuttack: Air Force officials visited the Kathjodi riverbed here today to review preparation for the ‘Air Show’, to be organised by the Indian Air Force (IAF) here on December 23.

Air Force officer AK Dwibedi said, “Basically we were here to assess that which direction will be safe for the show, bird activities of the zone and any other assistance we may require from the state government or the district administration. We have already requested the state government to help us.”

Cuttack Collector Nirmal Chandra Mishra said the district administration has made arrangements for nearly three lakh people to witness the show. “We have made arrangements to ensure to ensure smooth flow of traffic so that people can watch the show at ease. Arrangements have also been made for the Air Force officials. They would keep their equipments and machineries there. Besides, Sunshine filed and Muncipal High School ground will be made available for parking,” he said.

DCP Sanjeev Arora said vehicular movement in the area will be to be restricted for an hour from 11.30 AM-12.30 PM. The 40-minute air show to commemorate the birth centenary of legendry leader late Biju Patnaik will be performed at the Khannagar Park. IAF personnel will exhibit several daredevil acts including parachute dropping within radius of five km from Khannagar Park over Kathajodi river bank.

As many as 100 pilots, 10 IAF officials of Surya Kiran Aerobatics, Saranga Aerobatics and Akash Ganga Aerobatics teams of IAF will participate in the daredevil show with 6 helicopters, 10 fighter aircraft.
