Bhubaneswar: The State government has approved a proposal submitted by Air Asia to operate direct flights from Bhubaneswar to Bangkok, said Culture and Tourism Minister Ashok Panda on Wednesday.

The airline is likely to start Bhubaneswar-Bangkok operation from next year, added the Minister.

At present, the airline is operating direct flights from Bhubaneswar to Kuala Lumpur daily.

Similarly, Air India has submitted a proposal to the State government to operate Bhubaneswar-Bangkok flight via Gaya.

“The State government is looking into Air India’s proposal,” Panda elaborated.
