After Cuttack, dreaded criminal nabbed in Aska in police encounter

Bermahpur/Cuttack: Two notorious criminals have been nabbed in police encounters in separate places in Ganjam and Cuttack district.

In Ganjam, a dreaded criminal identified as Kisan Patra alias Gaju Naik was injured during a police encounter near Charimile square in Aska late last night.

Acting on a tip off about the movement of Gaju, a special police squad led by Aska IIC raided the area. During his face off with police, Gaju fired one round following which the cops retaliated. Gaju sustained injuries on his right leg and was admitted to Aska hospital and later shifted to Bermahpur MKCG Hospital. On the other hand his associate Kiran Pal managed to give the police a slip.

Sources said Gaju is wanted in more than 10 cases. A gun, two live bullets and a motorcycle was seized from his possession.

Similarly, in Cuttack, notorious criminal Kalandi Khuntia, wanted for bomb hurling incidents at Badambadi area was also nabbed last night.
