Balasore: Admission process at Balasore Medical College and Hospital began today. A total of 15 seats will be available under NEET All-India quota.

Similarly, a maximum of 85 students can take admissions under the State quota this academic year. The admission process will continue till July 3.

According to sources, there were no enrollments on the first day while the College authorities are hopeful that all seats will be filled up by Tuesday.

"All-India quota admission began from today and it will continue for 10 days. Classes will begin from August 1 after admission concludes by August 31," Superintendent of Balasore Medical College and Hospital, Sudhir Kumar Ghosh said.

Recently, the Medical Council of India had granted permission to Balasore and Bolangir medical colleges for admissions.

In 2014, the central government had given its nod to five Government medical colleges and hospitals in Balasore, Koraput, Bolangir, Baripada and Puri districts of Odisha.
