Jeypore: A week after the launch of bus services to Kotia gram Panchayat where Andhra officials had recently distributed freebies among locals, Koraput Collector K. Sudarshan visited the disputed areas under Pottangi block and reviewed ongoing welfare activities on Sunday.

Sudarshan’s visit came 20 days after the officials of Vizianagaram district in Andhra Pradesh rolled out freebies to the residents on the occasion of Andhra government's Janmabhoomi programme.

He also held discussion with local residents and elected representatives and heard their grievances. Besides, he also visited panchayat office, schools and health centres and directed the block officials to expedite road construction work, supply of drinking water and distribution of commodities under PDS in the panchayat.

The Collector said drinking water facility and electrification of the villages would be taken up on a priority basis and few works have already started in the area.

Earlier, a team of Pottangi block officials had also paid a visit to Kotia panchayat and reviewed the developmental works.
