Actor Papu Pom Pom airlifted to New Delhi AIIMS

Bhubaneswar: Actor-comedian Papu Pom Pom who is suffering from pancreatic disease was shifted from a private hospital in Bhubaneswar to New Delhi AIIMS today.

Papu was airlifted to New Delhi after nearly three days of treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) of a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.

According to sources, Papu has been accompanied by some members of his family.

The State Government is in close contact with AIIMS authorities and the Health Minister has reportedly taken stock of his condition and held discussions with AIIMS doctors.

Sources said several actors and colleagues of Papu have raised Rs 5 lakh through various charities and donated the amount for his treatment.

“Though he is not in danger, his condition is not well. We hope he will recover soon," Ollywood actor, Sritam Das said.

Similarly, actor Sakti Baral said “The blessings of all the people of Odisha are with Papu and I hope with people’s support and blessings, he will recover from this disease and once again make people laugh through his comedy and acting.”
