Actor Papu charged under IPC, POCSO in casting couch case

Bhubaneswar: Ollywood actor Papu Pompom was charged under the IPC and the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act) in connection with the casting couch case involving a minor girl.

According to sources, Papu today appeared before the POCSO court which framed the charges against the actor under sections 341, 323 and 354 of IPC and also under sections 8 and 12 of POCSO Act.

Papu is currently on bail after being arrested in connection with the case.

He was arrested on charges of sexually harassing a minor girl promising her to give a break in films. Police had arrested him from Puri on June 30, 2016 following a complaint lodged at Mahila police station by a Bhubaneswar-based NGO.
