Action soon regarding Khandapada fund irregularities: Minister Maharathy

Bhubaneswar: The State’s Panchayati Raj Minister Pradip Maharathy today stated action will be taken soon regarding fund irregularities in Khandapada block of Nayagarh district.

He questioned the BDO on utilisation of Rs 36 lakh fund sanctioned to the block and his signature on a resolution passed for the panchayat samiti.

Few days back Khandapada legislator Anubhav Patnaik had alleged the local BDO utilised the Rs 36 lakh government fund meant for construction of the block’s staff quarters for other works. However, an inquiry found out that the fund sanctioned has not been spent.

Levelling fresh charges of irregularities against the BDO, the legislator today said, “To bring transparency in the mechanism I had written a letter to the minister. I hope action will be taken on person involved in the irregularities.”
