Acid attack on newly elected samiti member

Baripada: Miscreants hurled acid on a newly elected Samiti member over political rivalry at Jharapokharia in Maurbhanj district today.

Victim Hadibandhu Naik narrowly escaped as his was covered with blanket. The incident took place when he was asleep at night. He sustained minor injuries on his face.

He has been admitted to district headquarters hospital in Baripada. The miscreant managed to escape from the spot after committing the crime.
After getting information, the police personnel reached the spot and have started their investigation. Political enmity is suspected to be the reason behind the incident.
