Abducted Kolkata businessman rescued

Bolangir: Five days after his abduction, Kolkata-based businessman Pratik Patodia has been rescued from Kantabanjhi area of Bolangir district.

On July 22, Pratik was abducted by unidentified miscreants from Badabahal while he was on his way from Jharsuguda to his spinning mill in Kirei in Sundargarh district.

Police traced his driver Rohit Tanti yesterday. According to sources, police got information about the whereabouts of Pratik from Rohit.

However, the person and motive behind his abduction are yet to be ascertained.

The manager of Pratik’s mill had filed an FIR with Bhasma Police alleging that a businessman from Kantabanjhi had abducted Pratik over business-related rivalry.
