Bhubaneswar: City-based philanthropic organisation Parichay Foundation organised Aarya Awards in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. The sixth edition of the award ceremony, graced by Arya Samaj Leader Swami Agnivesh was organised to honour women achievers in various fields including social service, literature, entrepreneurship, art and culture, entertainment and media.

Before the award ceremony, a panel discussion was also held where eminent panelists including DGP RP Sharma, Anthropology professor of University of California Annapurna Pandey, social activist Namrata Chaddha and senior journalist Sandeep Mishra along with Swami Agnivesh deliberated on various issues related to women in Odia society.

Speaking on the occasion, Swami Agnivesh said, "I am very impressed with the work of the foundation to empower women. I am also happy to meet and honour the women achievers here."

Founder of Parichay Rosalin Patasani Mishra said, "These awardees are a part of the Parichay family now and we are really proud of them. They have come from all across the globe for the awards and that shows their trust on the organisation."

The Parichay foundation is also going to organise an all women bike rally on International Women's Day tomorrow.
