Cuttack: Unfazed by the recent controversy surrounding its chief Arvind Kejriwal in a corruption related FIR in New Delhi and the suspension of its minister Sandeep Kumar on rape charges, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday revealed its ambitious plan to form government in Odisha in 2019.

Addressing the party’s maiden workers’ meet here, its spokesperson Ashutosh said, “All parties including BJD is dominated by tainted politicians. We have a lot of plans for Odisha and I am confident that our party will form government in the State in 2019.”

He said the ruling party has become corrupt and it has made the people of Odisha blind by introducing ‘cheap’ schemes to eye vote bank.

“The government here is playing vote bank politics. But in 2019 general elections the people of Odisha will give BJD a fitting reply,” he noted.

Later talking to OTV, the party’s Political Affairs Committee member said the party has received huge support from across the State and this will help strengthen the party’s base further in the days to come.

“Six months ago we had planned to strengthen our base in Odisha. I am overwhelmed that the public support is more than expected for us and in some areas our party has become the only alternative for the people,” Ashutosh said.

During his one-day trip to Odisha, he targeted the ruling BJD and asked, “What the BJD government has given to the State in the past 16 years except frustration among the people.”

“Today we have started a drive against the ruling party and the people will show their love for the party. In 2019, AAP will not only emerge as the alternative but also push BJD to such extent that it will not come up again,” he maintained.
