Rourkela: Resorting to a unique way of teaching ‘road romeos’ on the streets a lesson, a girl from Rourkela thrashed two youths in public allegedly for passing lewd comments on her and touching her inappropriately.
The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon when two youths came on a bike, made obscene gestures and passed lewd remarks on the girl Sujata Sahu who was waiting for her friend outside Neelam Hotel near Rourkela Sector 19.
Initially Sujata tried to ignore the youths but she reacted after one of the youths pushed and touched her inappropriately. It took Sujata no time to catch hold of the duo and thrash them. Failing to hit back, the two fled the spot leaving behind the bike and their mobile phones.
"One of them used slangs and when I objected, he put his hand on my shoulders asking me what action can I take. I caught hold of them and snatched their mobile phone and bike key. I told them that I will go to the police station to lodge a complaint against them," said Sujata.

Sujata, trained in martial arts, later filed an FIR in this regard at the Sector 19 police station while police have seized the bike and the mobile phones the youths had left behind.
"We have seized a motor cycle from the location bearing registration number OR 14X 3282. Investigation is on and efforts are on to nab the miscreants involved in the incident. Strict action will be taken," said a senior police official.
A case was registered under Sections 509, 505 (11), 506, 34 IPC, 323, 341 of Indian Penal Code and the owner of the motorcycle has been identified as SK Rout, added police sources.
