A Cricket bat takes life of Class 10 student

Baripada: In a shocking incident, a Class 10 student of Mayurbhanj district committed suicide allegedly after his family members did not give him money to purchase a cricket bat.

The deceased has been identified as Rashmi Ranjan Bej, a student of Munilal High School (MLHS), Baisinga.

Sources said, the minor had stubbornly asked his parents to buy him a cricket bat. Though Rashmi’s father had assured him to buy a bat, he resorted to the extreme by consuming pesticide apprehending that his request would be rejected by family.

Later, the family had rushed Rashmi to the hospital after he complained of chest pain, but the doctors declared him brought dead.
