Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday said a total 973 MSME units in the state have been given incentives of Rs 80.50 crore, generating employment to nearly 22,200 persons.

While launching the online administration of incentives for MSMEs (AIM) here, he said the incentives have been given to the units since 2011-2012.

MSME entrepreneurs will, from now onwards, be able to apply for various incentives under Industrial Policy Resolution and MSME Policy online.

The Chief Minister hoped that the web application AIM will ease the administration of incentives benefiting MSME entrepreneurs.

The MSME department has made provisions for different incentives under various policies for MSMEs.

Patnaik noted that the Central government has reckoned Odisha as a "leader" for facilitating reforms for doing business in the state, adding that his government is committed to provide a conducive environment to MSME entrepreneurs.

Earlier, the applicants were to apply to concerned Regional Industries Centre and District Industries Centre for availing these benefits. But now with the launch of AIM, they can apply for incentives online and avail the benefits within defined time frame.
