Balasore: With the help of members of the Snake Helpline, the Forest department on Friday rescued a huge King Cobra from a paddy field near Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary in Nilagiri of Balasore district. The snake was later released inside the forest by the officials.

As per sources, locals raised an alarm after spotting the 9-ft long snake entangled in the farmland of one Asanabani villager.

Following information, a team of Forest department and a member of the Snake Helpline rushed to the village and rescued the snake, which was later released inside the Wildlife Sanctuary.

“The Snake Helpline rescued the Cobra and handed over to us, and later we released it inside the Sanctuary,” said a forest official.
