Bhubaneswar: Leaders of various political parties including the CM and Union Ministers have faced egg attacks 16 times in State in last three years, CM Naveen Patnaik informed the Assembly on Monday.

As many as 89 workers of various parties and outfits have been arrested so far in 15 incidents while in one incident, no arrest has been made yet, Patnaik added.

The CM's statement about no arrests in one case reportedly pointed to the egg hurling incident on MP Baijayant Panda that took place in Mahanga of Cuttack on May 30.

Responding to a newspaper report on CM’s statement in Assembly, MP Baijayant Panda tweeted, “Hmm... because it also involved stones & brickbats?”
