87 gamblers arrested; Rs 8L seized in Berhampur

Berhampur: In a major breakthrough, the Ganjam police arrested 87 gamblers after conducting raid at various places here today.

The cops raided nine gambling dens under BN Pur and Bada Bazaar police limits and seized Rs 8 lakh from the gamblers.

Similarly, police nabbed 18 persons and seized Rs 68,000 during a raid on a gambling den in Paralakhemundi

Earlier on Tuesday, a person was beaten to death by a group of people reportedly over gambling in Pitala village under Hinjili police limits of the district.
