Berhampur: As many as eight persons were injured after bombs were hurled during a group clash allegedly over past enmity at Tatadapali village under Golanthara police limits of Ganjam today. Police have detained ten other persons from both the groups in connection with the incident.

According to sources, three persons sustaining critical injuries have been shifted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur while five others are undergoing treatment at Golanthara Hospital.

On being informed, the Golanthara police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

This apart, adequate police force has been deployed in the village to avoid any untoward incident while a few officials are also trying to resolve the dispute.

Though the two groups were regularly involved in fights, the situation turned grim today after the members of one group attacked the other with sharp weapons and hurled bombs, police sources said.
