Bhubaneswar: The number of tourism destinations in Odisha has gone up to 357 as the state government has accorded tourism destination status to seven more places.
Of the new seven tourism destination sites, Satyabhamapur, the birth place of Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das and two other places, which were the meeting place of the freedom fighters, have been accorded tourism destination status. They are Lunia and Batighara.
Talking to the media today, Tourism and Culture minister Ashok Panda said the state government will take steps for infrastructure development of these new seven tourism destinations.
“Apart from this, steps would be taken for the accommodation of the tourists at these places with adequate security,” he added.
