Baripada: In a tragic road mishap, seven persons were injured as a bus in which they were travelling lost control and hit a road-side tree near Kankumura square at Udala in Mayurbhanj district late on Thursday night.

According to sources, the incident took place when the private bus-Nisamani was on its way Sarat from Udala.

The ill-fated bus lost control and hit a road-side tree leaving seven persons injured. Out of the seven injured persons, the condition of two is stated to be critical, the sources added.

The critically injured persons have been identified as Raimani Marandi of Dhipasahi village and Sarojini Singh of Baghapada.

While the two critically injured persons have been admitted to Udala hospital, the five others are undergoing treatment at Kataria primary health centre.
