7 dacoits detained by locals; handed over to police

Khurda: Locals of Chotipalanga village under Town police station here detained seven dacoits while they were attempting to loot a fish godown late on Thursday night.

According to sources, the villagers held the dacoits while they were stealing from a fish godown in the village and locked them inside a room. Later, they informed police about the incident.

Being informed about the incident, Town police rushed to the spot with one platoon of force and arrested the criminals.

Besides, police also seized two bikes from their possession, sources added.

However, two more dacoits managed to flee the spot, villagers informed.
