5-year-old allegedly raped by minor in Sambalpur

Sambalpur: There seems to be no end to the disturbing trend of sexual harassment of minor girls in Odisha as another 5-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Sambalpur on Tuesday.

Shockingly, the accused is reportedly a 15 to 16-year-old minor who happens to be the neighbour of the survivor.

The juvenile has been detained after the survivor’s family lodged a complaint in connection with the incident with Gosala outpost.

Senior police officials informed that both the survivor and the accused were taken for a medical examination today.

However, only after getting a detailed report, it can be ascertained whether the minor girl was raped or only an attempt was made, sources informed.
