5 human skulls 'stuffed' in bag found in Tigiria

Athgarh: Panic gripped the locality after five human skulls were recovered from a garbage dump near Nuapatna Sri Jagannath spinning mill complex under Tigiria police limits in Athgarh of Cuttack district on Tuesday.

The skulls were stuffed inside a gunny bag and were found by a few villagers who then reported the local police. It is almost five years that the mill has been closed and the skulls were found from an isolated place near the staff quarters, sources said.

Locals suspect that the human skulls might have been kept for the purpose of performing some 'black magic'.

"We have seized the human skulls after locals informed about the incident. All the skulls will be sent to laboratory for tests tomorrow and necessary action will be taken in connection with the incident," said Officer-in-charge of Tigiria Police Station, Sushant Satpathy.
