47 BJP, Congress leaders arrested ahead of CM’s Sambalpur visit
Sambalpur: Ahead of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s visit to Sambalpur today, police have arrested 47 leaders of the BJP and the Congress, including ex-MLA Jaynarayan Mishra.
Protesting the preventive arrest, BJP leaders, including women activists took out a rally in the town holding black badges and shouting anti-government slogans. Meanwhile, police forces have been deployed at various places to avert any kind of eventuality.
CM Naveen is scheduled to visit Sambalpur to inaugurate various developmental projects, including a planetarium and a science park at Burla. Patnaik would also attend an event to be organized by Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT). Besides, the CM would inaugurate 10 new city buses here.
