Berhampur: A MLA has alleged that 42 labourers from three villages of Ganjam district were not being paid their wages for the past few months by a Tamil Nadu-based cement factory.

Digapahandi MLA and former minister S N Patro has urged the state Labour Secretary to look into the issue.

Labourers from Bhramarapur, Narayanpur and Gopinathpur of Digapahandi block in the district have not been paid their wages for a few months by the cement factory at Teriyklam in Tuticorin district of Tamil Nadu, Patro said.

"When they demanded their money, the labour contractor threatened to register false case against them," the MLA said.
