Sheep deaths continue, 4 more killed in Niali

Niali: Four more sheep were killed at Kuladahijang village under Bilasuni panchayat late last night.

The sheep carcass were found at the cattle shed of villager Sarat Bhoi this morning.

Earlier, large number of sheep deaths were reported from the village. The killing of sheep in Niali region of Cuttack district continues despite a slew of government measures and efforts to stop it.

The Wildlife Institute of India (WII), which was requested by the State government to undertake a field visit, stated wolves, foxes and hyenas are the predators responsible for the mass killing of sheep in Niali and other places in Odisha after examining the killing pattern and pug marks of the killer animal.
