4 killed, 20 injured as mini truck overturns

Bhubaneswar: At least four persons were killed and 20 others injured when a mini-truck they were travelling in overturned on Bhawanipatna-Khariar road near Borda in Kalahandi district here on Tuesday.

All the injured with multiple injuries have been shifted to Borda community health center and their condition is said to be critical.

According to reports, the mishap occurred when nearly 40 persons from Nehela village of Khadial block in Nuapada district were returning after attending a marriage.

“The ill-fated mini truck was carrying nearly 40 persons and turned turtle after the driver of the vehicle lost control of the steering wheel. The injured have been admitted to hospital and the condition of few is said to be critical,” said Samir Rout, a senior police official.
