4 foreigners arrested for using satellite phone

Bhadrak: Marine and Bansda police on Friday arrested four foreign nationals on charges of using a satellite phone on their way to Dhamra port on an Australian ship.

According to sources, the police has forwarded the four accused to JMFC court.

On June 16, the police had detained the foreigners who were on their way to Dhamra port on an Australian ship.

Among the four detained foreign nationals, one belongs to Australia while the other three belong to Philippines.

The police detained them when the captain of the ship was seen contacting Malaysia and Philippines using the satellite phone. Marine police had also seized visa, passport and satellite phone from their possession.
