Bhubaneswar: Panic gripped the members of a family at Sailashree Vihar area after they spotted four-feet long snake was in their refrigerator of their house here last evening.

Sources said, a non-venomous Rat snake strayed into the house of one Gangadhar Sahu at around 8.30 pm and later entered into their refrigerator.

With no other option, the family members called up Snake Helpline seeking urgent help.

The Snake Helpline members soon rushed to the spot and found the reptile hiding behind the compressor of the fridge. After failing to take the reptile out, the team then used hit spray to rescue the reptile and later released the snake into forests.

Earlier in April, a Cobra was rescued from a defunct air-conditioner at a dispensary in MCL colony near Doordarshan Centre here in Bhubaneswar.
