3-year-old boy kept tied up, rescued in Anandpur

Keonjhar: In a shocking incident, a three-year-old boy was rescued from a house in Nuapatra sahi slum in Anandpur where he was found with his legs and hands tied.

It is alleged that the boy was allegedly locked up by his parents and rescued by Childline officials basing on a complaint filed by a few locals yesterday.

According to reports, the kid was reluctant to stay with his parents due to the ill treatment meted out to him. It is alleged the kid was tortured by stepmother Boby Mukhi.

The minor’s father Rajendra Patra had married Boby after his first wife Savitri left him two years back.

“We got a call at 7 am from locals that a boy has been locked in a room with his hands and legs tied with plastic rope. The boy without getting adequate care and attention from parents was forced to spend bulk of time outside,” said Childline official Bhagirathi Das.
